For the rest of July, a HTC 10 price drop for the flagship handset is taking place which will see a seventh of the price slashed.

HTC has announced that the flagship HTC 10 smartphone will be getting a significant price drop until the 31st of July, making this powerful handset even better value for money. The company is slashing $100 off the list price, with the cost now just $599. This puts it on the same level as it’s nearest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S7.

The discount is available for HTC 10 handsets purchased through the official web store and comes with an additional $100 voucher to spend on accessories. It’s a pretty sweet deal which means you’ll be able to get an Ice View case and Universal Car Kit, plus the handset, all for $599. It’s worth noting that Vive accessories are not included, so you can’t use the discount to get that VR headset a little cheaper.

HTC 10 price drop makes the deal even sweeter

The HTC 10 is still one of the best handsets on the market today, with only the Samsung Galaxy S7 arguably overshadowing it. It includes a Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM and a 5.2-inch QHD panel. There’s also a 12 megapixel rear camera featuring UltraPixel technology, which has undergone a massive improvement since the company released the camera software update. It now ranks as the joint-best cameraphone that money can buy, according to our assessment. There’s also a hi-res 24bit DAC on board for better audio quality, a feature that gives the handset a pretty powerful USP.

HTC has been grappling with financial issues lately and despite the obvious prowess of the HTC 10, it’s been surprisingly poorly received. Global market research firm, TrendForce, noted in a recent report that the phone had shifted just 1 million units and was struggling with competition from Chinese manufactures. It went on to say that the manufacturer was suffering 30% annual declines in volume growth, whereas brands such as ASUS were making ‘significant strides’.
