Hasselblad Moto Mod could be unveiled this week

Hasselblad has started handing out invites to an exclusive event this Wednesday, which could see them announce the highly anticipated Hasselblad Moto Mod for the Moto Z.

We know that the Moto Z has a selection of add-ons available through the Moto Mod programme and that the company intends to work with a pro camera maker who’s tipped to be Hasselblad. While there’s nothing to be certain about just yet, an invitation to a tech event released by Hasselblad themselves seems to elude that a new camera or add-on could be in the works.

A link to the livestream scheduled for the 22nd June reveals the caption ‘Announcing a world’s first’, so it’s obviously going to be a pretty innovative announcement. Rumours of a 50 megapixel mirrorless camera have been circulating for a while, so it will be interesting to see if this becomes the anticipated Moto Mod that we’ve all been waiting for.

Currently, the only two images released are the ones shown above, which detail a series of manual camera controls and a macro shot of the mode wheel. It’s definitely going to be a new camera of sorts… we just don’t know if it will be the Hasselblad Moto Mod we’ve all been waiting for. Still, fingers crossed. We’ll know a lot more this coming Wednesday.
