Google to unveil watch to take on Galaxy Gear and Apple iWatch?

Google could be about to unveil a new Android-based watch, which is reportedly codenamed Gem. The device is set to launch alongside the Android KitKat announcement, which according to Android Police’s Artem Russakovski, is set to be unveiled on October 31.

Whilst we would take this news with a pinch of salt, it’ll be interesting to see Google take on the Galaxy Gear and Apple iWatch with a Google Now-style UI.

We could see Google taking a lot from the company’s recently announce Moto X, where it’s always listening, thus meaning you could bark commands at the device without pressing a button.
