In a surprise preview, Google showcases the new features of Android N.

The highlight feature of Android N is the Alt-Tab overview button, enabling users to flick through their open apps just like on a PC. After entering overview mode, you can flick through all your tabs by double tapping the overview button. Google has cast haste over this feature as you can tab the button almost as quick as you can. This shows how dedicated Google are at making the Android software much more easier. Pausing over an open tab will automatically open it after a few seconds, unless you double tap the overview button again.

Android N also allows split screen mode, it’s not something new as we’ve seen it on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and many other Android devices, but it’s a welcomed feature. To activate it, a long press of the overview button is done.

Replying straight from notifications is also feature in Android N, again not a new feature, iOS users have been enjoying that for a while. The convenience of this feature needs no explanation.

Confirmed devices receiving the update are: Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus Player and Nexus 9.
