The Google Pixel launch date has been leaked by one of Australia’s biggest network providers. Google’s next smartphone line is expected next month.

Now that the iPhone 7 is out of the way, the focus is now on Google with the big ‘G’ expected to launch its newest smartphone line soon. It’s not clear whether Google will be replacing the Nexus line with Pixel, but what is clear we will find out very soon.

A report from Ausdroid claim Australian network carrier Telstra will start taking pre-orders as soon as October 4th. The report also states October 20th as the general release date. This latest rumour corroborates with previous rumours stating October 4th being the reveal day. So quite possibly we’ll be able to pre-order the Pixel and Pixel XL right after the press conference.

The Pixel devices are codenamed Sailfish (Pixel) and Marlin (Pixel XL). Sources speaking to Android Police confirm the new branding, for the supposed HTC developed devices. The name Pixel comes from the Google developed Pixel C Tablet we saw last year.

Google has yet to send out invitations in regards to a Pixel launch event, but we’ll definitely hear from Google in the next couple of weeks.
