Google to end Nexus line next year?

It’s been suggested that Google will bring an end to its Nexus line of smartphones and tablets some time in 2015.

The rumor comes from Eldar Murtazin, a Russian leakster. He posted on Twitter (around the same time he pushed the Nexus Lenovo rumour), that the line will end in 2015. But fear not – taking its place with the be Play Edition line that currently offers other company’s products via the Google Play Store.

Murtazin wrote: Nexus line by Google is over in 2015 😉 Yes – this line will be replaced by Play Edition (current name, it will be rebranded).

That would mean no more Nexus 5, 7 or 10. It seems like a radical move for a brand that performs quite well.
