Galaxy Note 3 might see a special, flexible edition (in South Korea)

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 was announced at the start of this month during IFA, and will release towards the end of this year. You wouldn’t think this was the time to announce a new addition of the phablet, then, but it would seem the company disagrees.

It’s rumoured that a special edition of the phone is incoming, though these reports come from a Korean site, and so it’s likely that this news only applies to that region. Still, there’s a significant upgrade to this edition – a flexible screen. Don’t start thinking that the entire phone itself will bend to your will, as the display will be the only component that supports it, but this will help with screen protection among other things.

This area of tech isn’t anything new for the company, but this is the first time we’ll have seen anything actually being deployed to consumers. Could this limited model serve as an experiment for flexible screens and components to be implemented into more of the company’s devices in the future?
