Fireweb, LG’s Firefox OS phone, shows up at CES

The LG G Flex may have been the company’s main focus for phones at CES, but it has a few other devices to show too. One such device is the Fireweb.

This is LG’s first Firefox OS handset. It’s already available in Brazil but, as Engadget reports, it’s not shown up in the US so far. That’s no surprise, given Firefox’s market focus, but this could hint that a release is on the way.

We’d certainly welcome the chance to try out the new OS, and the Fireweb seems as good a place as any to get a look. It’s a pretty standard four-inch phone with a 480 x 320 resolution and 1GHz processor.

Will it ever see release in the UK? We doubt it, sadly.
