Extra SkyDrive storage is Microsoft’s gift to Windows Phone users

Use a Windows Phone? Then Microsoft loves you. And it’s going to prove it, witha gift of 20GB extra SkyDrive cloud storage.

We can’t confirm that this is a global thing right now but it certainly seems to be the case in the US at least. Emails are going out inviting users to the extra SkyDrive storage, for which they have until January to claim. The added space will run for the next year.

This deal joins a range of others that Microsoft has used to push its SkyDrive features as of late. Two-years of 200GB of storage is currently available for any Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 user. Clearly it’s a big part of the company’s vision going forward.
