Doro 8080: Doro launches latest senior handset through Amazon

Senior smartphone specialists Doro has announced the release of its latest smartphone the Doro 8080.

The handset available through Amazon for £350 and has been designed for the over 65 age demographic.

One of the key features of the smartphone is a GPS-enabled assistance button, which has been designed to give users peace of mind.

It has a 5.7-inch screen that has a screen-to-body ratio of 2:1, with the Doro 8080 available in white and copper initially, with black and copper coming soon.

Other features include a fingerprint reader for easy access, a headphone jack with USB cable port and easy-to-read display and text.

There is also a boost button that provides 20 per cent higher volume instantly while still preserving sound quality.

There is also a feature that allows relatives to access a user’s phone remotely via their iOS or Android device and this allows them to give the Doro user any help should they need it.

Doro UK and Ireland MD Peter Marsden said: “Our users have very specific ideas about how they want to communicate with friends, family and others, without having to compromise on the usability of technological solutions.

“With the new Doro 8080 smartphone, we are pleased to offer our customers the highest quality device yet, incorporating the over 65’s firmly into the smartphone age.

“In 2020, a quarter of the European population will be 60 or older. With the number of mature consumers on the rise, new requirements will need to be met by telecom providers.”
