Apple has made it absolutely clear that the WWDC developer conference, which is taking place next week, will only be about iOS and Mac OSX, and not about unveiling any new devices — but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill. The latest rumours come from China’s twitter-like service, Weibo.
The ‘leaked’ photographs claim to be iPhone 5S components next to their iPhone 5 counterpart, and what’s stranger they’re not black, nor are they white, but gold.
This isn’t the first time that a rumour has emerged claiming that Apple is planning on more colour options for the next version of the iPhone, after all we received similar images back in mid-may.
In these new photographs the new iPhone 5S components look very similar to what we currently see in the iPhone 5, which would be understandable given the rumours that Apple’s next smartphone will simply be a bump in specs, rather than an overhauled design.
Whilst the components look real enough, don’t go expecting a follow-up to the iPhone 5 anytime soon. Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, has already stated that we will not be seeing any iOS follow-up devices until at least the fall of this year — which seems to have calmed down a lot of rumour mongerers who claimed that Apple would close the gap on their release cycle — like they did with the fourth-generation iPad.
