You can now instantly listen to Shazam tagged songs via Deezer

Shazam is a very, very useful app. It’s also very popular, and rightly so. It permanently removes the quintessential pre-smartphone era problem of hearing a song on the radio or on TV or in a club and not knowing what it’s called or who performs it. Simply open the app, hold it to the music and it will identify it for you almost immediately.

Now, the music-tagging app has added another string to its bow – you can listen to the track you’ve tagged straight away with just one tap, courtesy of Deezer. Deezer is another incredibly useful music app. They may hate being described this way, but, for anyone not in know, it’s essentially Spotify. There’s a free service with adverts, or a paid monthly subscription which removes them.

Unfortunately for our international readers this partnership is only available in the UK. Still, it’s about time we got something ahead of that lot across the pond, isn’t it?

The app has received a few other updates, too. You can now view a tagged song’s official video and lyrics from the song page within the Shazam app, biography pages have been updated, and there’s more comprehensive social song options.
