BT expands free Wi-Fi access to iPad users

BT has given iPad users easy access to over two million Wi-Fi hotspots for BT broadband customers, who can now go online anywhere as if they were still at home.

Following on from the iPhone/iPod touch app released last year, iPad users can see their nearest hotspot on a map, and sign in automatically using their home BT broadband account details.

The two million hotspots consist of a combination of traditional BT Openzone areas, combined with BT FON hotspots made up of other BT broadband users who allow access to their connection, in order to create the unrivalled network of wireless access points.
