There’s now an app for BT Total Broadband customers to find and connect to BT’s Wi-Fi hotspots – and every download will have BT giving 50p to BBC Children in Need.

iPhone and Android users can get the application now from the App Store and Android Market respectively, giving BT Total Broadband customers an easy way to access free Wi-Fi hotspots, including BT FON hotspots; free hotspots run by other BT broadband subscribers.

It means that users of the app can easily access a network of 1.6 million hotspots, with the assurance that there will be no chance of racking up extra costs. The app includes a regularly updated mapping service to find the nearest hotspot.

BT will give a 50p donation to BBC Children in Need every time the app is downloaded, until they reach a maximum of £10,000.
