Bryan Cranston and Patrick Stewart are among the celebs set to appear in Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff mobile game, as part of a comic-con themed update.

Additional cult idols that will find themselves in the digital town of Quahog include Stan Lee and George Takei.

The update will also see the inclusion of a new narrative in which Stewie is transformed into an evil octopus monster, while the citizens of Quahog attempt to mount an attack with the help of a new group of heroes.

Celebrities such as Cranston and Stewart will aid the characters with their newfound powers.

Additional stars also set to make appearances in the Quest for Stuff include Nathan Fillion, Ron Perlman and Felicia Day.

Some stars such as Patrick Stewart and Bryan Cranston have already appeared in TV episodes of the popular animated series – with Stewart clocking an astounding 15 guest spots on the show already.

This isn’t the first time a TV spinoff mobile game has included new characters to its lineup as part of an update, with The Simpsons: Tapped Out regularly unveiling exclusive new additions (some of which don’t even make it on to the TV show).

However, despite boasting an endless array of stars on its TV show, The Simpsons: Tapped Out has never seen the inclusion of celeb cameos.

TinyCo, the developer behind the Family Guy game, sees this as an opportunity to capitalise on the show’s enduring brand.

“Including celebrity guest stars is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and we’re incredibly excited to give players the opportunity to interact with some of their favourite stars in a brand new way,” said Andrew Green, Head of Business Development and Operations at TinyCo.

The update to Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff will roll out today for iOS and Android devices.

You can download the game from the App Store and Google Play Store.
