Travel back in time and brick your iPhone

A new bug has been discovered for iOS devices, one that can permanently brick your iPhone.

The bug is triggered by going through the long process of setting the date to January 1st, 1970, after switching off ‘Set Automatically’. After doing so, restart the device to see a now vacant iPhone. Obviously don’t do this unless you have too much money and the curiosity of a cat. The bug apparently affects iPhone 5s to 6s, running 64-bit processors A7 to A9X. There are no known fixes, restoring it from iTunes, taking it to the Apple store and voodoo can do nothing for it.

We didn’t test this for ourselves but take a look at the video below for a demonstration. And please do not try this at home.
