BLU flagship smartphone ‘Pure XR’ announced

BLU flagship smartphone to include 4GB RAM and and premium materials, with a market price of $299 (£230.12).

The Miami-based American smartphone manufacturer has made quite a name for themselves producing cheap yet functional handsets, so it’s no surprise that their flagship model will come in at a relatively cheap asking price. There’s currently very little to go on aside from a teaser image which the company posted on social media earlier today.

The handset will reportedly feature 4GB RAM and be marketed as a ‘premium device’, which probably means that we can expect an all-metal construction combined with plenty of glass for aesthetic appeal.

BLU flagship smartphone killer?

BLU has gone for the name ‘Pure XR’ with the caption ‘Go for Bold’. We’re not sure what that means but we reckon it could be something to do with the screen size. Could it turn out to be a phablet? Looking at the teaser image, it seems to have a seamless fingerprint sensor on the bottom and physical buttons, which is a nice touch. In fact, it looks an awful lot like the OnePlus 3.

BLU will officially announce the device on August 29th and in the meantime, you can head to their Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning one of three Pure XR handsets (over 18’s only).
