Best Android Games for Low-End Phones

With so many new smartphones coming out that cost upwards
of £1,000
, it’s not surprising that people don’t want to spend so much on
an upgrade.

But having a lower-end phone sometimes comes at the expense of being unable
to play large-scale games on it. Some games like Epic’s Fortnite
or Dead Trigger 2 often
won’t function on low-end phones and can be detrimental
to battery life
in even the highest-end phones. You might have an
older phone with lower RAM than the phones today, which are more often
running 6, 8, 10 and even 12 GB of RAM
in newer devices
. However, there are still many games you can play with a
low-end phone that are just as entertaining. Read on for some of the best
examples that won’t leave you feeling left out.

Mobile Games

One of the most addictive and riveting games you can get for your low-end Android phone is text-based InstLife, a game where you live out an entire life of a person – from getting a job to having a family, buying mansions, going to prison  – whatever you choose, you can do.

It might sound like a high-spec game, but it’s entirely text-based. Made
with game development platform Unity, InstLife
lets you become a world-famous musician, CEO, talented artist and so much more.
There are no images or animations whatsoever in this game, so it’s very easy on
your phone’s processor.

Another popular app-based game available on your smartphone is Gabriele Cirulli’s 2048. It’s a super
simple game that doesn’t demand much from your phone and is surprisingly addictive.
Here, all you need to do is swipe numbers in multiples of two to make higher
combinations. More numbers keep getting added and if you can’t combine them all
before the square fills up, you lose. The goal is to get as high a number as
possible on the board before it fills up, and you’ll spend hours trying to beat
your high score.

Browser-Based Games

We’ve all had that issue where we can’t fit any more apps onto our phones since the memory is so low. But luckily, there are plenty of browser-based games you can play that won’t take up any space on your device.

One that will bring back memories of your old Nokia phone is Snake 3310, a browser
game that replicates the retro Snake came from days gone by. It’s super simple
to play and it will keep you entertained on your commute while bringing back
fond memories at the same time.

Many online casino games are made to work on mobile browsers on even the
least powerful phones. For example, on sites like Paddy Power, you can play
many different and immersive games of bingo online, including the popular
Rainbow Riches and Deal or No Deal. These contemporary and digitalised versions
of the classic game also utilise immersive video graphics and exciting
active animation.

Pixel Force 2 works well on slower phones as it only takes up 25MB of storage on your device. Here, you can play as 5 different characters and your mission is simple – shoot down your enemies. As you progress through the game, you can buy new weapons and extras to improve your gameplay and it actually gets pretty challenging as you go on.

You don’t need to have the best tech to play games, and if you’re not
bothered about the most high-spec games for mobile, these should suit you just
fine. There are many other games we didn’t get time to talk about in this
article which are worth checking out. These include Alto’s Adventure, an auto-runner game
that takes you through a mountain range. You could also try out the Hoplite
mobile game
, a turn-based strategy game that takes place on
small maps.
