Apple’s exchange service had been rumoured to launch in the UK, and it turns out as of today — it is. Apple’s already been offering trade-in online for three years, but we’ve been waiting for it to be possible in store, something that has been possible for US users.

To use the program, just go onto Apple’s online store and check how much you could get for your phone. For instance, a white 64GB iPhone 5 with no damage whatsoever and a power cable will get you £270.00 from Apple, whereas a black 16GB iPhone 4S will get you a cool £150.00. Once you’ve done that just head into your local Apple Store and be prepared to get a sizeable discount on your next iPhone.

It’s not just the iPhone you can go in and exchange either, you can also exchange Windows-based PCs, Macs and even iPads. One thing Apple won’t be taking from you though is your old iPod, which has been left out of the program.

An Apple spokesperson spoke of the new program by saying:

“iPhones hold great value. So, Apple Retail Stores  in the UK  are  launching  a new program to assist customers who wish to bring in their previous-generation iPhone for reuse or recycling. In  addition to helping support the environment, customers will be able to receive a credit for their returned phone that they can use toward the purchase of a new iPhone.”

If you have a spare iPhone to go and sell to Apple, then this could be the perfect way to get some money off your next inevitable Apple purchase.
