The PS4 has been out for almost a month now in the US and a little over two weeks in the EU. In that time Sony has confirmed that 20 million hours of PS4 gameplay has been livestream across the internet using the system’s share functions. 20 million. More hours of gameplay than any of us would ever live. Sheesh.

The company confirmed as much on its PlayStation Blog. That equates to 800,000 individual videos and 7.1 million spectate sessions in which people watch the broadcast. Ustream broadcasts, on average, last a little over half an hour, which 10 percent of all Twitch streams since November 15th (US launch) have been from PS4s. The share menu on the system has been used 10.9 million times since the launch.

Those are some great early figures for Sony and co. The revolution will be televised – in fact it’s happening right now.
