Euro 2016 starts today so we’ve gathered together some apps and games to keep you clued up and entertained.

Gone are the days where you need to press a massive radio to your head while biting your nails, waiting to hear the results from your relegation rivals. Now you can bite your nails hands free with a smartphone, and/or refresh an app to the point of insanity.

We’ve got all bases covered – news, scores, viewing, games, fantasy football, statistics – everything you need to stay on top of the tournament and stay entertained.

So whether you’re heading out to France or staying at home, this list will help you get fully immersed into the tournament.

Livescore Euro 2016

There are plenty of score keeping apps out there, but not many can claim the accuracy and speed Livescore boasts. Livescore has created a specific app, purely for Euro 2016.

If its anything like the actual Livescore app, it should update every goal, card and substitution to an excellent degree of speed and accuracy.

The app also offers news on the tournament so you can make quick adjustments to your fantasy team if your captain tore an achilles. So much more is offered by the app including: statistics team sheets and match information.

BBC iPlayer

Thankfully the Euros aren’t shown on paid for TV. The BBC and ITV will be sharing the matches between them, this means you don’t have to blow a lot of money on subscriptions.

Highlights and replays will be available on the iPlayer, even if the match was on ITV.

UEFA Euro 2016 official app

As much as we hate giving coverage to UEFA (and FIFA), the official app does a fair job to keep you informed.

Whenever you’re planning to watch a game this app provides full details of teams, players, matches, fixtures and standings.

It provides an excellent second screen for you to attain more information on the games you’re watching. The app will provide video, audio, official statistics, as well as news during the duration of the tournament.

UEFA Euro 2016 Fantasy

Fantasy football just makes football so much more interesting, by bringing out your inner football nerd.

You’re probably going to be at the pub for most of the Euros, so you won’t be near a PC to swap out your players, a dire situation for any football fan.

With the official Euro fantasy football app you can substitute players wherever you are, make transfers and read scout reports to ensure you stay top of the table. Think of the bragging rights.

Score Hero

Lets’ face it, football games that try too hard to be a console game on a smartphone are dire.

Score Hero doesn’t try to be that, instead offering a gameplay style that suits one handed play. Swipe the directions of passes, through balls and shots to guide your avatar from the bottom tier of the footballing ladder, to the world stage.

Over 380 levels are there for you to play during those annoying days where real footballers need rest.
