Interactive story about Mica the bear aims to help young people understand more about the children that Save the Children supports

Save the Children has teamed up with actor Dominic West and MediaCom, a global media agency, to launch a new, interactive audio experience for children. Mica’s Moon School can be activated by a simple command to Amazon devices: ‘Alexa, launch Moon School.’ Once launched, Alexa then allows listeners to choose the path Mica the bear takes during its journey to Earth.

During the story, the listener will hear real stories about children supported by the charity. The bear takes the skills learnt from these children back to its moon school to teach its moon bears.

Narrated by the star of The Wire and The Affair Dominic West, Mica’s Moon School is accessible to all via any Amazon device with Alexa, or via the Alexa app. It’s also discoverable via Alexa Skills.

Dominic West said: “As a long term supporter of Save the Children, I am excited to help bring this charming interactive story to life. Mica’s Moon School beautifully illustrates the potential and passion of children, no matter where they live and what their circumstance. I hope this story helps inspire children to learn more about the world around them whilst having fun.”

Stephen Allan, Worldwide Chairman and CEO of MediaCom, said: “Technology gives us the opportunity to bring stories to life and create fully immersive experiences. We are excited to partner with Save the Children to take Mica the bear into the cloud to create a memorable adventure for children worldwide.”

George Lavender, Senior Brand Manager from Save the Children, added: “Our Mica’s Moon School activity, in partnership with MediaCom and Code Computerlove, allows us to utilise a new digital channel to build our brand awareness and share inspirational stories of children that Save the Children has helped. This brings together nicely MediaCom’s People First ethos and Save the Children’s brand message of ‘fulfilling every child’s potential.”

The project aims to recognise amazing children around the world whilst supporting Save the Children in its mission to ensure all kids can fulfill their potential.
