High-performance brand continues vendor’s aggressive pricing streak Xiaomi has made its new Poco F2 Pro device available on its e-commerce mi.com/uk platform.

The device is the second device in Xiaomi’s high-performance Pocophone range. The first device, the Pocophone F1, was one of the manufacturer’s first UK devices but has now been removed from its website.

The Poco F2 Pro is a popular seller in Eurozone territories such as Germany and Spain, where it is available in four colours and two different storage variants. However, in the UK, it is only available in Cyber Grey, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

It runs on Android 10 using Xiaomi’s MIUI OS, on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, which makes it 5G-compatible. It has a 6.67-inch AMOLED full-screen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back.

The F2 Pro has a quad-camera setup, with a 64MP main snapper, 13MP 123-degree wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. It shoots 4K video at 60fps, and 8K video at 24fps, while the front camera is a 20MP pop-up camera that also shoots slow-motion video.

It has a 4,700mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging, and also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Xiaomi is offering the phone for an early bird price of £499 until June 23, when it will cost its RRP of £549.

This month also sees the release of Xiaomi’s low-end Redmi Note 9 series. According to Gartner, Xiaomi was the only one of the top five global smartphone brands to post year-on-year growth in Q1 2020.
