SPB launches Wireless Monitor for Android

Want to keep an eye on your data usage, split between Wi-Fi and mobile data? SPB Software has released an app that tells you all you need to know.

The US$9.99 app includes a widget to allow you to keep a regular check on your data usage, but it’s the app itself that gives all the data you’re ever likely to need.

Users can view a range of screens, from a traffic report that shows your daily, weekly and monthly usage to a detailed report that shows which apps are consuming the most data.

You can also tell the app what data plan you are on (or select from around 330+ presets already installed for different operators around the world), allowing you to enter your monthly data allowance and additional costs per megabyte thereafter.

If you’d rather not go over your limit, you can set alarms to warn you in advance.

Given the hefty charges that can be levied for exceeding your allowance, this could be a very worthwhile purchase.

The app is available now from Android Market and works on devices running Android OS 2.1 and above.
