After a plethora of leaks these past couple of weeks, LG has finally decided to officially unveil the newest edition to their range; the LG Class.

The LG Class will be a budget handset with a focus on style and design. At only 7.4mm thick, it’s one of the thinnest devices on the market. The 2.5D glass also helps to give it a slightly curved appearance, making it seem yet more slimmer than it actually is. Aesthetically, the device can be described as a blend of the Nokia N8 and Honor 7, with the unibody aluminium finish giving it a premium characteristic. It certainly looks the part.

The rear of the device houses a volume rocker which is now a mainstay on LG devices, while the camera sensor sits directly above it. In terms of hardware, the LG Class packs a 5-inch IPS display with a 720p resolution. This is fairly standard for devices in that range and is mirrored by the processor choice. LG has picked a Snapdragon 410 for the brains, which is the de-facto chip for all budget handsets. 2GB RAM is a welcome addition and should help it edge ahead of similar smartphones. The rear camera sensor comes in at 13-megapixel while the front is a surprisingly high 8 megapixels. The battery is a middling 2050 mAh. Finally, there’s 16GB internal storage with room for expansion via microSD.

The LG Class runs on the latest version of Android Lollipop and will go on sale for around $340. It’s available now in Korea through select carriers. There’s still no word on if it will ever make its way to western shores.
