Gameloft and Honor have partnered up to create the Asphalt 8 Honor Cup challenge, which will see the two communities face of in series of races.

The event went live yesterday and see’s players battling it out in the United States, France, Germany, Russia and India. There’s currently no word on if the tournament will reach the UK. We did try reaching out to Gameloft and Honor for comment but sadly, they were both unavailable.

Communities will be able to vote for their favourite team while each race is taking place, the first of which is happening on the Asphalt 8 San Diego Harbor circuit. Participants will be competing for a chance to win one of ten Honor 5X devices, by getting the best lap times possible. There’s also additional smaller prizes up for grabs such as virtual currency and reward packs, for those who can’t quite reach the top 10.

Gameloft and Honor pairing means more great Asphalt 8 DLC

Asphalt 8: Airborne has been a huge success for Gameloft, clocking up almost six million downloads on the Google Play Store alone and an estimated 200 million total players. It was also the first mobile game in history to get featured on live-streaming service Twitch. With plenty of support from the developer including downloadable content and car packs, it’s ballooned to over 1.8GB in size. With this new Honor update on the way, it’s only going to get better.
