We’ve all seen the range of Bluetooth car kits that can be attached to your sun visor and give you a cheap and easy handsfree system. The AB900 is more than a basic handsfree though; hook it up to any handset that has stereo Bluetooth and you can use this to play all your music through your existing car radio.

Everything remains completely wireless. The AB900 runs off its own battery (a standard BST-38 battery as used in many recent Sony Ericsson handsets), with up to 1000 hours standby and 26 hours of voice calling, or 18 hours of music playing. Music and voice is sent using Bluetooth from your phone to the AB900, while the output is via FM transmission to your car radio.

If a call comes in, the music is paused and resumed automatically.

The AB900 includes a display to show key information and has easy access to your favourite numbers and voicemail.

Key stats:

  • Size: 120x69x16mm
  • Weight: 117g
  • Bluetooth V2.0+EDR / A2DP
  • Noise reduction
  • Echo cancellation
  • With visor strap and two coloured panels (black and silver mesh)
  • 1000 hours standby using BST-38 battery
  • 26 hours talktime
  • 18 hours music streaming
