T-Mobile launches G1 Touch Android phone - out July
June 24th 2009

The next Android phone to join the T-Mobile Android family will be the G1 Touch, and it will be on sale from the middle of July - free on £40 per month contracts and above.
As we already reported here last week, the T-Mobile G1 Touch has a 5-megapixel camera, 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen and GPS. It also features a Teflon-coated screen to resist smudges caused by finger contact.

What we didn't get right was the manufacturer, which continues to be HTC (it is a rebranded HTC Hero, as announced earlier by Orange). However, we know that a deal was struck with Huawei and predict more Android devices from T-Mobile in the future - especially now that T-Mobile is talking about an 'Android family' and claiming that by the end of 2009, "one in five of its regular mobile Internet users will have an Android device".
The G1 Touch will be available on T-Mobile in an exclusive black edition.
