Virgin Media gives free landline to mobile calls
February 1st 2010
Posted by: Jonathan Morris
From April 1st 2010, Virgin Media will offer new and existing Virgin Media customers free landline calls to Virgin mobile phones. This equates to around four million UK home phone customers who have a home phoneline with Virgin.
More than £1.6bn is spent each year on calling mobiles from fixed lines in the UK, so Virgin Media customers could save users a considerable amount of money if they switch friends and family over to using Virgin mobile phones.
Fortunately, in recent years, the range of handsets and tariffs have come more into line with the 'big boys', with everything from entry level prepay handsets to high-end smartphones. Virgin recently introduced its first Android phone, the LG GW620 InTouch Max.
Calls are free for 60 minutes, when the caller must hang up and redial to continue without being charged.
