Orange subscribers go MMS crazy over snow
January 8th 2010

We're all doing it, whether it's by email, uploading galleries to Facebook or using TwitPic, but loads of Orange customers also opted to send each other pictures of the snow using Picture Messaging. And who said MMS was dead?
It's an odd thing that, even though it has been snowing everywhere, we all think everyone wants to see what snow looks like somewhere else.
It's generally cold and white and looks the same, plus in a photo it always ends up looking surprisingly disappointing. A photo can never look as good as reality.
Nevertheless, even though social networking and the ease of access to email on the move has seen picture messaging fall in popularity, there were 984,000 picture messages sent in a single day on the 7th of January.
Such numbers show that there's still life in the service yet, although we have no way of knowing how many were of snow covered roads, amusing objects made of snow, snowmen or simply messages sent as proof-of-snow to bosses that couldn't understand the reason for staying at home.
