Keep your eyes open for Sony Ericsson Satio

December 9th 2009

Posted by: Jonathan Morris

Sony Ericsson has had a troubled few weeks and the Satio received the brunt of the negative press, following recalls by Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U over software issues. This week saw a new firmware update being rolled out, promising to fix things, and now there's some more positive news.

The new R1CA firmware update, available now from the Sony Ericsson Update Service (PC users only) fixes a number of issues with the Satio - and offers up considerable speed improvements at the same time.

Despite the fuss over software stability, the quality of the 12.1-megapixel camera cannot be disputed.

The top-quality camera prompted Vodafone to commission photographer-to-the-stars Jillian Edelstein to take up a mission to capture the beauty and individuality of 121 eyes in just 12.1 hours.

Sony Ericsson searched for people all over the country, culminating in an invitation-only Satio photoshoot that took place on December 2nd and 3rd at Vodafone's London Westfield store.

Each participant had their eyes captured by Jillian using the Satio handset and the results are now included in an exclusive online gallery.

The photos can now be viewed online at www.eyeswideopen.uk.net
