Nokia E7 delayed until January?

Nokia announced their new range of smartphones at this year’s Nokia World event held in London not long ago and it was clear to see that the E7 stole the show.

Following on from the success of the Communicator, the E7 is aimed at both users who use their phone for work and rely on email including exchange support but it is also aimed at those of us who want to enjoy a great multimedia device including watching video clips and browsing the web.

The E7 has a fantastic 4 inch screen using new CBD ‘Clear Black Display’ which was seen on the C6-01, an 8-megapixel camera and slide out QWERTY keyboard.

The C6-01, C7, N8 and E7 all run on the latest version of the Symbian operating system, Symbian^3 and the great news is no longer will Symbian^4 be a different OS all together but it will be broken up into smaller updates and rolled out to all the new devices announced at Nokia World, E7 included.

Nokia did state a Q4 2010 launch but major online retailer eXpansys have the E7 listed to go on sale 10th January.

Nokia did launch the N8 direct first and then allow other suppliers to stock the device a week after they started selling so maybe this will happen again on the E7.

With just over a month to go there is not that long to wait and see.

My thinking is Nokia will sell direct first and then 1 to 2 weeks later allow 3rd party sales. Same happened with the N8

  3. "but major online retailer eXpansys have the E7 listed to go on sale 10th January": – and they have listed that date virtually since the E7 was announced – certainly before Nokia announced 10 December availability(and if you query the page at just the right time it shifts to 11 Jan and then back to 10 Jan) – so I don't think it says anything meaningful about a "delay"
